Seriously? Ptolemy?

Gretchen Mol B-list actress in such famed films as The Thirteenth Floor, The Notorious Betty Page and most recently 3:10 To Yuma gave birth to a son recently. Great news, right? A new baby, her first, how delightful. Yeah, until you find out that she named him Ptolemy John Mol. How would you like to kick it on the playground with a moniker like that? Yikes!

Parents need to think for more than one second before naming children these funky names. The kid's gotta live with it the rest of its life.

They really do. I understand you want to be original, but stuff like Moxie Crimefighter (Penn Gillette's daughter) is just cruel

Ptolemy is a last name, for Pete's sake! Not just the Claudius Ptolemy (whose Earth-centered cosmology was challenged by Copernicus and championed by Galileo), but a whole dynasty of Egyptian rulers including Cleopatra had the surname.

One of the followers of Jesus was Bartholomew, the Hebrew version of the name.

Cruel and ill-informed. Must be Repugnicans or something.

SbT - So true or maybe they just got tired three quarters of the way through the baby naming book. I've always questioned the value of those things.
